Pedagogical approaches for heritage language instruction are unique, nuanced, and ever evolving. This summer workshop will introduce Tamil language teachers to innovative teaching methodologies that will develop learners’ language skills from the basic levels. Teachers will be introduced to skills-based language teaching, the ACTFL language standards, and performative assessment methods. The workshop will also aid teachers in implementing the MNTS syllabus that has been created based on these ACTFL standards.
